Our mission is to arm victims with
a backpack of tangible resources
to expedite their leaving process
If we intend to save our loved ones
who are suffering in abuse,
we must change
the way they escape.
Our Pak'D Backpacks
Our backpacks are comprised of 4 major elements, each with a unique design to allow a victim to make their difficult moves.
The First Element: The Guidebook
Streamlined and organized for the user, this guidebook will provide all of the essential knowledge for planning their next moves.
The Second Element: The Hospitality Kit
Victims should not have to go without essential items often left behind or unattainable. All bathroom items are sized for a minimum of 3 days.
The Third Element: The Wallet
This provides financial support for everyday living.
The wallet contains gift cards to provide provisions for a minimum of 3 days, as necessary.
- The provisions provided are for needs such as but not limited to; shelter (temporary), food, specific essentials, access to their own bank account, discount for medication needs, and transportation needs.
The Forth Element: The Cell Phone
This essential tool allows for a victim to communicate and continue daily functions apart from their abuser.
*All phones are non contract phones and can be used past the 30 day support period, contingent upon the user.
If you find yourself unable to wait for a backpack here are some helpful tips.
Action plans are personalized by you, for preparation in leaving an abusive relationship.
Record evidence of abuse- Keep a journal and take pictures with dates. A phone typically date time stamps- hide this somewhere safe. Send photos to someone you entrust.
When leaving Turn OFF your locations on your phone, laptop, apps.- If your children have devices, turn those OFF too.
Gather important documents - Consider leaving documents with a trusted friend/ family member or co-worker. Birth certificates, SS card(s), marriage docs, money, car / housing docs, medical docs.
Let trusted individuals know about your situation -Your abuser may try to contact them to get information as to where you may go, An Abuser may pose as the innocent party to get information.
If you need to take any items consider leaving them with trusted individuals. -If you can get away with taking items to a friend to hold or hide at a place of employment. Claim to donate the items or getting rid of them all together if that may work in some situations. Items may be medicine, small clothes items, IMPORTANT ITEMS.
If possible file an emergency protective order with a county magistrate. - This is basically a no contact order.
